Note to You

It’s not you, it’s me. You were perfect. I didn’t have the chance to mess you up, and that makes you amazing. You inspired me to create. I value you so much. Even if you’re common.

Don’t take that the wrong way. It’s not you, it’s me. I meet ten of you a day minimum because I just move around so much. It’s how I’m wired. There’s no rhyme or reason to what makes any relationship blossom. Timing is really everything.

Sometimes I meet you through other people. It’s amazing when someone feels something else is worthy of your time and effort. Still, visions differ. It’s not you, it’s me.

I do my best, trust me. Whether it’s jotting down points about you in my notes app, building you up in my head, or even starting on the road to prosperity with you. Nothing is guaranteed in this life, and sometimes things disappear from existence without any real reason as to why.

I hope you don’t hold it against me. I hope you don’t see the bonds that exist in my life and feel slighted. It’s not you, it’s me. I’m often glad that I missed the opportunity to ruin something that may be better off without me.

The reality is, I’ll probably meet a thousand more like you for the rest of my life. Lord knows what will come of that. I can’t promise you all will get equal time and effort. I don’t want to do that either. But I do promise to always give my best in situations that I can.

We aren’t meant to fall in love with every good thing that comes our way. Even if we do, that love doesn’t come with a minimum or maximum shelf life. It is what it is. So, ideas, I’m sorry in advance for future misunderstandings and disappointments. I’m sorry the words in my head related to you didn’t become something better. I hope you can at least be happy for what I have been able to do. And remember - it’s not you, it’s me.
